To make labels stand out with a little bit of shine, foil hot stamp or cold foil treatment can be used. This can be added to your design and certain parts can add sign to accent any specific details.
Foil hot stamping is a way to embellish labels, paper, or security prints. With this process, high levels of details can be added. If you need a custom label with fine text, filigree, or foiled line work, Blue Ribbon Tag & Label can use foil hot stamping.
A metal tool, or die, is mounted to the printing equipment and then heated to a very high temperature. The hot stamp foil then passes between the die and material. The heat causes the foil to transfer to the material once the pressure is applied.
If your labels need a touch of glitter, cold foil it the more cost effective way to go. Cold foil is similar to hot stamping but custom die is not needed. The material that works best for cold foil is non-absorbent papers, film stocks, and high gloss.
The cold foil process is when special adhesive is printed onto the desired material. The material and cold foil pass through pressurized materials together. When it passes through the foil sticks to the wet adhesive. It is then cured and permanently added to the label. Any excess foil is then stripped away.
