Children are absolutely fascinating. They have so many curiosities and thoughts. They have needs that are different than those of adults. And, they pay attention to things most of us would never even notice. Having said all of that, it’s important that people who create products for kids think about the needs and desires of those children. If you want little ones to love and really want your product, you’ll need to think a lot about how your item will appear to them. One way you can do that is to make sure that your custom label design attracts your target audience: the kiddos.
One of the things you need to keep in mind when you’re creating a custom label design for a kid’s product in the interests of the children. What do they like to see? What do they like to do? What kind of colors grabs their attention? Also, think about the age group you’re targeting. Are these kids in preschool? What about kindergarten? A little older, say, 5th grade or so?
Think about where these kids will see these products. In a small drugstore? A busy grocery aisle? Believe it or not, this is something you need to consider. That’s because your custom label design should be made in such a way that it will capture attention anywhere at any time. Of course, that doesn’t mean the packaging has to be extremely colorful and visually “loud”. But, it should definitely be easily spotted on the shelf. That might mean that you should use softer colors in order to stand apart from the brightly colored items next to your product.
Producers use colors and images that appeal to kids. Keep that in mind when you’re creating your custom label design. Kids who are too young to read well can still recognize an item that was made for them. They can look at a well-made label design and realize that it’s something they can use. It might be shampoo, juice, or applesauce. But, no matter what the product is, kids know what’s for them. Maybe a cartoon character. Perhaps fun and bright colors, like orange or blue or red. Maybe softer tones, like light yellow or baby blue. Whatever you do, think about colors and pictures that will stand out to the kids.
Also, remember who’s carrying the wallet. Although the item is for children, a toddler is probably not going to be the one paying for the groceries. So, your custom label design will need to appeal to the parents as well as the kids. Make sure you include information that’s important to the adults who are thinking of purchasing your product. This includes things like nutrition facts, warnings, directions, and so forth.
